General Questions

What is CBD?

CBD, or Cannabidiol, is a non-intoxicating, non-addictive phytocannabinoid. Big words, we know, we'll explain. Phytocannabinoids are the chemical compounds found within the hemp plant. There are over 100 different phytocannabinoids that can be found in hemp, all with differing purpose and effect for the hemp plant and for humans!

CBD has been and is currently undergoing many studies on it's effects to the human body. In numerous studies, CBD has proven to lessen seizures due to LGS and Dravet syndrome, improve falling asleep and staying asleep for those with insomnia and anxiety, and has shown positive results in treatments for pain due to inflammation and arthritis. Studies have also revealed successful pain relief for chronic pain due to neuropathy.

More studies are needed to substantiate all the claims made about CBD, but progress is being made daily.

What is the Endocannabinoid System?

The Endocannabinoid System, or ECS, is a neuromodulatory system in our bodies that plays a role in nervous system development, brain function, and environmental response.  It exists within many organs of the body and in the immune system. The ECS supports cells and healthy function in reaction to changes in our external environment, like a change in the weather. The ECS accepts our body's self produced cannabinoids as well as the phytocannabinoids found in hemp, like CBD.

The Endocannabinoid system benefits greatly from additional cannabinoids, such as the phytocannabinoids and terpenes found in our Full Spectrum oil. These work to support the ECS in various biological tasks, including energy and balance, memory, metabolism, sleep, and nervous function.

Supplementing cannabinoids from plants supports the endocannabinoid system, especially the major CB1 and CB2 receptors.

What is Hemp Oil?

Hemp Oil is the essential oil produced from the leaves, buds, and stem of the hemp plant. Hemp oil can be extracted by both mechanical and chemical means through a process commonly referred to just as "extraction". In the extraction process, the oil retains a range of the phytocannabinoids, terpenes, and flavonoids found naturally in hemp.

Oil that comes from only the seeds of hemp—hemp seed oil—does not include all of the same plant compounds and is primarily composed of dietary fats.

Here at Mett Naturals we utilizes solventless hemp oil to craft all our products.

Are Hemp Oil and CBD oil the same?

Hemp Oil and CBD Oil as advertised on products is often the same thing. Here at Mett Naturals, we try to distinguish between full spectrum hemp and broad spectrum hemp oil. Our Hemp oil is CBD dominant, meaning it contains mostly CBD, but it also contains many other minor cannabinoids besides CBD, including CBG, CBN, CBC, and CBDV.

What are Cannabinoids?

Cannabinoids are a group of fatty compounds found in hemp but also produced by other plants and natively in the human body. They are the primary chemical compounds produced by the hemp plants. Hemp can produce more than 100 different phytocannabinoids naturally.

Of the 100+ non-intoxicating phytocannabinoids, Cannabidiol (CBD) is the most widely known. Others include Cannabigerol (CBG), Cannabichromene (CBC), Cannabinol (CBN) and, more.

Research is ongoing into the benefits and uses of Cannabinoids, but early studies suggest a wide variety of uses for CBD, CBG, CBN, and others.

What are Terpenes?

Put simply, terpenes are the essential oils of the hemp plant. More technically, they’re the aromatic oils responsible for the different flavors and smells of our products  Much like a lavender or peppermint essential oil, each  terpene comes with its own specific set of health benefits.

We use only hemp-derived terpenes to flavor our oils, often the same ones that we extract from our own fields. New terpene blends produce exciting flavors, so check back often for new releases!

What is a COA?

A COA (or C of A) is a “Certificate of Analysis” and a test done by an independent third party to confirm and verify the contents of our products. It is one of the most important parts of our mission for transparency, and a keystone for our business. Each product is tested before sale to ensure the Cannabinoid content is within the acceptable range.

Want to learn more about how to read our COA's, or see the COA for your product?Click Here

What is THC?

THC, or Tetrahydrocannabinol, is a cannabinoid found in hemp responsible for most of marijuana's psychological effects. THC works by attaching to cannabinoid receptors in the brain to effect movement, thinking, memory, pleasure, coordination, and perception. CBD, another cannabinoid found in our bodies and in hemp, actually blocks the high of THC.

When working together in a full spectrum hemp oil, a tiny amount of THC ( <0.3%) compliments other cannabinoids and helps to provide a more potent effect then just CBD alone. Research has suggested that CBD's benefits are more prominent with multiple cannabinoids, like THC.

Not sure about THC? No problem. Try our "broad spectrum" products that contain 0% THC.

All of Mett Naturals products contain less than 0.3% THC as regulated by the U.S. Federal Government.

What is the difference between Marijuana and Hemp Plants?

Cannabis, sometimes referred to as Marijuana, contains over 0.3% THC and if often genetically predispositioned for high THC content. This is the type of cannabis found in dispensaries, or prescribed as medical marijuana. Hemp is a strain of cannabis grown with less than 0.3% THC and predispositioned for high CBD content.

While the plants look the same, hemp and marijuana are very different in their cannabinoid profile. Mett Naturals only grows hemp on our organic farm in Nyssa, Oregon.

What is MCT Oil?

MCT Oil, or medium chain triglyceride oil, is a supplement popular in athletic communities for its quick digestion and effect on weight loss,  energy, and management of Alzheimer's. MCT is the "carrier oil" inside all Mett Naturals tinctures. "Carrier oil" refers to the oil combined with the CBD oil to promote improved CBD absorption, easier dosing, and added health benefits.

Our MCT oil is sourced from coconuts, organically grown with the same standards Mett Naturals uses for its hemp.

Does hemp have any other uses?

Absolutely! Hemp has 1000's of uses, including uses in textiles, food, construction, medicine, cosmetics, tools, and many more. Growing hemp is a perfect rotational crop, adding nutrients and oxygen back to the soil while also purifying more air per acre than 20 acres of trees.

Mett Naturals prioritizes using every part of the hemp plant to eliminate biowaste and improve our environment.

What is Full Spectrum Hemp Oil?

Broad Spectrum, like full spectrum, contains a range of cannabinoids, terpenes, and flavonoids. Unlike full spectrum though, broad spectrum hemp oil contains 0% THC. This makes it a great option for those with THC sensitivity.

Mett Naturals has broad spectrum options available in our body creams and tinctures.

About Mett Naturals

Are Mett Naturals products legal?

Hemp products are legal as of 2018 due to the 2018 Farm Bill. It stipulates that the production, possession and sale of CBD products is legal in the United States. It also distinguishes hemp from cannabis (marijuana}, stipulating that hemp is not considered cannabis unless it contains over 0.3% THC.

At Mett Naturals, we grow our hemp to stay within the 0.3% THC limit while maximizing CBD content. Said simply, all of our products are legal in all 50 U.S. states!

Where is Mett Naturals located?

Mett Naturals operates out of
Utah Valley with the Wasatch Mountains to the east and north, and the Oquirrh (pronounced “oaker”) Mountains to the west. Utah is home to some of Mett Natural's founders, and is filled with good, honest people.

Mett Naturals also benefits from farming and extracting in Nyssa, Oregon.

Why was Mett Naturals created?

When Mett Naturals began, we spent the first two years perfecting the planting, farming, harvest, storage, and extraction. During this time, we found that the majority of products in the industry were brands that had no connection to the farm, nor transparency for their products. It has been estimated that up to 80% of labels are inaccurate with false claims and statements. We knew that we needed to create a "seed to shelf" option, an option the everyday family could trust.  That is why we developed the Mett Verified promise on three pillars:

Pure- Pure growth, pure process.
Simple - Simple ingredients, simple products.
Transparent - Behind the curtain access, always.

This all meant we had to be vertically integrated and focus on data. It meant that we were able to care for the seed genetics all the way to our customers' genome or DNA. We believe in the Endocannabinoid System and the information that is delivered from scientific methodology. Our passion is not only to have a superior product, but a system that delivers consistently and accurately every time.

Why should I choose Mett Naturals?

Success leaves clues. This is true with individuals and it is true in product quality. Look for products that have the highest standards in the industry like our Mett Verified promise, and our dedication to pure, simple, and transparent hemp products. Seek for the products that have 3rd party testing and verification of quality, like our lab tests availablehere. Do your research and trust the science behind product performance (see our customer reviews and DNA test studies). Trust the recommendation of trusted individuals and at the end of the day, consult your DNA.

Mett Naturals believes that the Endocannabinoid System will inform you and me about the best products for each individual. Stay tuned, much more to come from extracting this data and utilizing it for optimum health.

Do you have a brick and mortar location?

Not yet! But you can find our products at many retailers, massage therapists, chiropractors, Apothecaries, and others across the western United States. For more information on the closest store to you, take a look at the "Our Partners" page.

Do you have other items like apparel?

We do! And our sizes/options will be available a part of our fall 2021 line. We're planning to have a hemp shirt in time for the holidays. Stay tuned!

Is Mett Naturals Organic?

Yes, we are! We make it a point to be pure, simple, and transparent with everything we do. Our fields have been certified organic for years, and traditionally have grown millions of beets, carrots, and potatoes. You may have even eaten a few of them!

We never use pesticides, herbicides, or fungicides on our plants. When you open a Mett Naturals product, it's our promise that bottle will only contain organic oils and hemp.

Is Mett Naturals cruelty free?

We are. We love our furry friends, and even craft apet tincturejust for them. We have never tested our ingredients or products on animals.

Product Questions

Where can I find my product ingredients?

Product Ingredients are included on the side panels of each product, and are also listed in the some of the product descriptions of product pages. We use organically sourced/hemp based ingredients in all of our products.

Have a question about our ingredients? Don't hesitate to contact our support team. We'd love to tell you more!

How long will my products last?

It varies depending on serving size, frequency of use, and concentration, but when using once daily you can expect to reorder every 30-45 days. All of our products have a listed expiration date on the information panel of the label.

How frequently should I use full or broad spectrum hemp oil?

We suggest using your full spectrum or broad spectrum products once a day, everyday. This allows the cannabinoids to build up in your Endocannabinoid System, allowing your body to adjust and use them as it sees fit. You may also use your products whenever your body tells you to!

Should I take my full spectrum hemp oil daily?

Absolutely! full spectrum and broad spectrum cannabinoids build up in the body over time. Effects can be immediate, or take up to 30 days. A daily dose can help maintain cannabinoid levels in your system and benefit your ECS (Endocannabinoid System).

How do I know how much full/broad spectrum oil to take?

If this is your first time using CBD or full spectrum/broad spectrum hemp oil start low and slow. Each person has a different level of absorption in their body, meaning your neighbor could have her desired effects with 10 mg of CBD while you may not feel anything at that same level. Start with 10-16 mg of full or broad spectrum oil and adjust dosage as needed over the next few weeks.

Be consistent, as your body will need to adapt to this new natural product. If you decide to adjust your dosage, do so in 5-10 mg increments.

How do I know if I've taken too much full spectrum hemp oil?

Every person will feel the effects of full spectrum hemp oil differently, and at different dosages. After all, we're all different in some ways, however small. However, studies done by the World Health Organization (WHO) have stated extremely large doses of CBD is likely to cause extreme drowsiness, lethargy, upset stomach, nausea and diarrhoea and other unpleasant, disorienting side effects.

In most cases, you'll just feel very, very sleepy if you have taken too much. If that's the case, cut your dosage in half. Always start with less, not more, as you begin your CBD regimine.

Explain the price?

Our team at Mett Naturals tries to price our products competitively within the hemp/CBD industry. We always want to keep our products and process pure, simple, and transparent, and our pricing will always reflect that. Hemp is a volatile industry, and can cause large fluctuations in the cost of growth, extraction, and manufacturing.

But, because we are vertically integrated and control our process seed to shelf, Mett Naturals remains largely unaffected by these highs and lows. This results in a steady, reliable price whenever you need a full spectrum or broad spectrum hemp oil product.

How should I store my products?

Like most supplements and oils, Mett Natural products should be kept in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight. Doing so will prolong the shelf life of your oil. Additionally, try to keep your oil dropper free from contaminants when using it (like avoiding contact with your mouth) and use a small spoon in your cream container.

Is full spectrum/broad spectrum hemp oil safe for kids?

The veracity and safety of CBD for children will vary from case to case, as CBD is not regulated by the FDA. Because of regulations surrounding CBD and full spectrum/broad spectrum oil, we can't promise CBD is safe for your children.

CBD may interact with medications your child is taking. we recommend consulting with your primary care physician before beginning CBD.

CBD has also been shown to interfere with some enzymes needed to metabolize medications, similar to grapefruits. Don't give your child CBD if they're taking a medication with a grapefruit warning.

With that said, our CBD/ full and broad spectrum oils are used by hundreds of our customers daily. With no solvents, contaminants, or unnatural ingredients, we believe our products to be a step above our competitors when it comes to purity.

Are Mett Naturals products vegan?

Some Mett Naturals products are vegan, however our soft gels do contain glycerin.

What does hemp oil taste like?

The answer to this will largely depend on the flavor you choose! We love them all. Hemp oil by itself though (our natural flavor) has a very verdant, earthy green taste. In the words of one of our founders, Cameron, "It tastes a little like chewing on grass".

CBD isn't taken for it's taste, but that doesn't mean it has to taste bad. That's why we use hemp flavonoids and terpenes to flavor our tinctures.

Will I fail a drug test by taking full spectrum hemp oil?

Cannabidiol, or CBD, shouldn't show up on a drug test. However, trace amounts of THC found in full spectrum oil can, in rare cases, show up on drug tests as a positive for THC.

If you need to avoid any THC, try using our broad spectrum hemp oil products. Our broad spectrum hemp oil contains 0% THC, making drug tests a non-issue.

Farming and Production Questions

What is the difference between Marijuana and Hemp plants?

Hemp and Marijuana come from the same plant genus, cannabis (part of the cannabaceae family). This is why the two plants are so frequently mistaken as the same.

As with other family relationships in the phytocannabinoids, the two plants share a number of genetic similarities including the CBD cannabinoid. However, they both have unique features. Cannabis refers to the genus of plant or phytocannabinoid which has three species: indica, sativa, and ruderalis. This grouping or classification was developed to differentiate the intoxicating cannabis from non-intoxicating cannabis.

Hemp is derived from the species; Sativa - non-intoxicating, and so does not bring the same psychedelic effects as traditional Marijuana.

Where can I see Third Party Tests?

Righthere. Our team is dedicated to testing each and every batch of hemp we grow, as well as every product we craft. Our Tests can also be accessed via the QR code on each label.

Have questions about reading or understanding our test results? Give our support team a call or send us an email! We're always happy to answer any questions as part of our Pure, Simple, and Transparent promise.

What is cGMP certified?

cGMP refers to the Current Good Manufacturing Practice regulations that are enforced by the FDA. cGMP's provide for systems that assure proper design, monitoring, and control of the manufacturing processes and facilities. Frequent audits are performed as verified 3rd party review teams inspect and ensure the quality and cleanliness of each facility. They compare and review their findings systematically to avoid "one-time" cleaning campaigns and continually require companies to be accredited.

We are dedicated to only producing our products in facilities that are inspected by our team and certified cGMP.

Where does Mett Naturals grow hemp?

Mett Naturals works with its parent company Mett to partner with Owyhee Produce. Owyhee produce grows our hemp, among other organic vegetables, in Malheur county, Nyssa, Oregon. This breathtaking farm has 4400 acres under management and is known for their organic growth practices, a strong labor strategy, and the best quality. Owyhee Produce has nationwide contracts with some of the largest box retailers and has yearly audits performed on their farm ground and facilities.

How does Mett Naturals grow hemp?

We grow our hemp the simple way. We begin by planting our specially chosen seeds after the last frost of winter. We grow all of our hemp outdoors without any pesticides or herbicides. Water is provided by the local Snake River. Our team monitors the growth of our plants closely, watching for any signs of malnourishment or stress. After about 8 weeks, our hemp is ready to harvest. Our team starts early in the morning, harvesting each plant by hand, then hang drying it to preserve minors, flavonoids, and terpenes.

How does Mett Naturals extract its full spectrum hemp oil?

The plants are taken from the field once the moisture content is just right. The plants are then hung for curing and chopped into smaller portions for storage. Mett Naturals products are cooled in Ag-bags with constant airflow to eliminate all moisture and create the perfect environment for keeping the hemp healthy.

Full spectrum extraction maintains all cannabinoids, flavonoids, and terpenes native in our hemp. The hemp is then moved into our extraction phase, which uses high pressure water extraction and a focused approach to avoid petroleum based solvents. Extraction is a constantly evolving aspect of the business and Mett continues to R&D non-soluble options including sound-wave extraction, hyperbolic extraction, and cold pressed extraction.

How does Mett Naturals extract its broad spectrum hemp oil?

Just like our full spectrum oil, our broad spectrum products start at the farm.

For our broad spectrum products, the oil undergoes an additional process to remove all THC.

Can I visit the farm?

Absolutely. Owyhee Produce has an Airbnb available seasonally for overnight stays. For farm tours with Mett Naturals, please contact our support team, as visits are limited for safety reasons.

Hemp Oil Side Effects

Can I have an allergic reaction to full spectrum hemp oil?

The short answer? Yes. Full spectrum oil contains CBD oil as well as flavonoids and terpenes. Terpenes in particular can trigger some allergies, albeit very rarely. Pollen can be included in some hemp products, but our growing, extraction, and manufacturing processes prevent our oil from containing any pollen.

Our CBD oils do contain MCT oil as a carrier oil. Check with your primary healthcare provider if you are unsure about your allergies.

Can CBD make me high?

No. CBD, unlike THC, does not interact with our brains the same way CBD does. While both are cannabinoids, the "high" feeling associated with THC is a result of THC molecules flooding the brain, attaching to CB1 receptors, and activating the brain's reward pathway. CBD, on the other hand, inhibits the CB1 receptor of the endocannabinoid system, meaning it actually can stop the high of THC.
